Job overview and responsibilities

The primary role of Analyst – Procurement is to provide analytical support to the category managers in the US based Procurement teams. This position will focus on providing analytical support to the Hotels category and support different procurement activities such as development of spend analytics, supply market analysis, RFP template creation and response analysis, etc. with the goal of capturing real total cost of ownership (TCO) savings and driving process efficiencies.

  • Create and maintain an online workspace for collaboration

  • Provide analytical support for daily operations such as room block analysis

  • Provide support in gathering and organizing data through various internal and external sources

  • Conduct analysis of market trends and potential suppliers

  • Conduct benchmarking analysis during RFP events and as needed across network

  • Conduct research and communicate procurement trends for assigned categories to category leaders

  • Develop expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with category managers

  • Develop and maintain a master database of rates and commercial information for all hotel and transportation vendors

  • Develop vendor scorecards to monitor spend, compliance, and performance

This position is offered on local terms and conditions within United’s wholly owned subsidiary United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to take charge and drive initiatives

  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Organized, detail-oriented, thorough and professional

  • Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on business issues

  • Minimum 1 year experience in an analytical role

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field

  • Proficient in Sequel

  • Collaboration skills with peers in a Procurement function as well as business stakeholders

  • Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concepts and strategic Procurement process
