Job overview and responsibilities
The L4 Engineer is responsible for providing End User Technology Support and Business Management functions to support (DT) Digital technology goals. This position will define the (DT) digital technology provisioning, implementation, and support of technology within the assigned region and to act as the customers advocate while maintaining corporate policies. The Level 4 Engineer works closely with the Principal Engineer and/or Sr. Manager and acts as a liaison between the United Hub/Regional Management and Supplier's Authorized Subcontractors providing services including, but not limited to, break-fix field services, project contractor work and other United or Supplier Third Party Contractors. Level 4 engineer provides consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming. Implements upgrades, and/or changes into the environment. Uses appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive and effective team. Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas. Effectively explores alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties involved.
Support regional airports, customer service centers, contact centers and all United facilities
Duties include Walkthroughs, (DT) Digital Technology Equipment, preventative maintenance, mobility product support, (DT) Digital Technology infrastructure support, operational equipment and communication rooms, base location inventory management and supply storage Manage day to day activities for the region
Manage day-to-day activities for enterprise level support for iOS and Android, Drives AV innovation and standardization across the region, performs CCTV Testing, diagnostics, and repairs of product for the region and the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables
Ensures The Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room and intermediate distribution frame (IDF) conform to established enterprise/industry standards (BICSI) Building Industry Consulting Service International, (EIA) Electronic Industries Alliance, (TIA) Telecommunications Industry association, responsible for assisting in the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support for various Critical Infrastructure hardware deployments. (copper backbone cabling and fiber optic backbone)
Works closely with Network Engineering on implementation of WAN, LAN, VOIP and Wi-Fi systems that support the enterprise
Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to define project objectives, develop detailed delivery plans, schedules, resource plans and status reports
Guides the development of individuals’ so that they can fulfill current or future job/role responsibilities more effectively

A Bachelors or Associate degree or industry certification in an applicable IT field, or 8+ years of applicable IT experience
Mobility IOS/Android, Windows, LAN room and (DT) Digital technology Infrastructure experience (Copper, fiber optic)
Minimum of 10 years of IT experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Aptitude for problem solving, looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answer
Strong level of poise in high pressure environments
Active committment to self-development
Technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies
Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico for any employer without sponsorship
Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
At least 5 years of IT project management experience
5 years of management or proven experience leading teams
A certification from (BICSI) Building Industry Consulting Service International
Experience in airline industry
