Job overview and responsibilities

The aim of the business partner model is to help HR professionals integrate more thoroughly into business processes and to align their day-to-day work with business results.

The HR Partner is a thought leader that aligns HR strategies with the business unit objectives by partnering with functional business teams to establish and implement HR programs/initiatives that foster organizational and people development and achieve the business teams’ goals. The HR Partner is skilled in building effective partnerships with all levels of employees and has a demonstrated history of executing successful programs that contribute to the business results. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving. Be fully accountable for all HR and People matters in the designated countries of responsibility

  • Build a strong and effective professional relationship with internal customers at all levels, namely establishing and maintaining credibility with Business Partners, by providing support and strategic counsel for leadership on HR issues, including employment legislation, Organizational Culture and Structure, Performance Management and Development, Organizational Structure design and actively work with business leaders in the design of improvements, based on a clear business case approach and work with the Finance department on rigorous financial assessments.

  • Be the relationship owner of all interactions with the Works Council in Germany and other designated countries, ensuring an effective and tactical interaction at all times, noting relevant areas for negotiation and co-determination and ensuring all managers are fully equipped with the tools and knowledge to equally interact with the Council.

  • Be the first contact point for Trade Union Representatives and Officials, Elected Staff Representatives and Convenors and any other Industrial Relations subjects, working in close collaboration with the Director of Labor Relations on all matters, including, but not limited to, IR Strategy, pay negotiations, disputes and Collective Bargaining Agreements across all geographical areas of responsibility.

  • In strict collaboration with legal counsel, ensure all Employment Relations matters are managed to the company’s best ability, by assessing risk at all times and identifying gaps/solutions in the related processes. Provide overall generalist support to the organization on all employee relations matters, ensuring the adequate levels of delegation across the local HR Team.

  • Proactive support on the delivery, design and improvements of HR processes and proactively work across business disciplines to lead and influence change at a strategic level.

  • Strategically drive business performance, by partnering the business leaders on business decision-making, based on accurate analytics, risk analysis and co-constructed solutions.

  • Head up the operational function within the HR department, being the escalation point on matters such as investigations, grievances, disciplinaries and ethics across all geographical areas of responsibility, by leading and supervising a team of HR professionals on all operational matters, through the provision of guidance, expertise and feedback for continuous improvement and enhanced performance.

  • Be an advocate for Diversity & Inclusion, by implementing the region’s strategy, at all levels within the organization, across the assigned geographical areas of responsibility to ensure full alignment with the organization culture and Core4 Principles, through leading by example, active collaboration with the Business Resource Groups and leveraging this collaboration for enhanced business performance.

  • Work as a true ‘HR Business Partner’, demonstrating coaching skills, strategic and critical thinking, commercial acumen and business management and develop the local HR team to increase their capabilities as ‘HR Business Partners’.

  • Provide support and strategic counsel for leadership on HR issues, including employment legislation, Organizational Culture and Structure, Performance Management and Development, by working in partnership with the Business Partners in designing solutions that address organizational and employee development, such as Succession Planning, Talent Development, Performance Management and Global Mobility.

  • Work in partnership with the Company’s Centers of Excellence and the wider Regional HR Team to ensure that all activities follow the utmost level of expertise and that these are tailored to the legal requirements in all countries in which we operate, by maintaining accurate and up to date knowledge of industry best practice, development of the HR profession through effective networking and personal development.

  • Work in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team to design strategies for the geographical areas of responsibility to create greater opportunity for candidate attraction and recruitment, including end-to-end resourcing process, workforce planning and forecasting, apprenticeships and internships recruitment and seasonal recruitment.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

**Position will be offered on a fixed term basis for 6-9 months


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary degree

  • Knowledge and experience of working in an international HR Management capacity

  • Experience of working with Works Council and Trade Unions

  • Extensive Knowledge and experience of dealing with Works Council in Germany and Trade Unions

  • Extensive experience in general HR management and/or a business partner role

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business partners’ needs and goals and apply HR solutions needed to achieve results

  • Excellent business partner management and business acumen skills

  • Successful influencing skills

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in employee development, coaching, organizational design, recruiting, compensation, employee relations, training, and HR project management and program execution

  • HR business acumen - able to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions

  • Ability to function and thrive in a fast paced

  • Ability to build trusted relationships through all levels of the organization

  • Must be fluent in English and German (written and spoken)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Germany for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Frequent Travel across geographical areas covered


  • Master’s degree or MBA in a Human Resources discipline preferred

  • Relevant Industry Experience

  • Knowledge of other European languages

  • Other European Languages
