Airport Operations
The Airport Operations department keeps operations at our airports running smoothly through planning, organization and supervision.
Job overview and responsibilities
Day-to-day operational management of Customer Service and Ramp activities for the station including performance, safety, customer service and employee enablement
Responsible for supporting the execution of operational plans in support of station and Division Go Forward Plan objectives and goals via process management and improvement
Responsible for development and sustainment of administrative practices that track and support service, safety, financial and employee relations metrics
May be assigned budget responsibility
Partners with and drives supervisor and frontline team to assess needs, recommend, implement, coordinate, and evaluate sound operational and business processes
Serves as station service champion
Directs the customer handling activities and all aspects of the planeside ramp service operation
Supports the General Manager with directing and managing the day-to-day operational performance of the station including safety; positive employee relations, labor relations and regulatory/government relations; promoting superior customer service; station facilities management; adherence to professional appearance standards for all employees; and ongoing performance management and develop of team members
Key Duties include:
Station Operational Performance
- Support the achievement of station operational objectives, goals and metrics
Employee Relations and Employee Development
- Promote positive employee and labor relations through ongoing engagement and effective communications
Station Safety & Security
- Day-to-day management of Station safety and security programs towards achieving the highest levels of compliance with safety and security standards and regulations and optimal safety performance against Station goals
Station Financial Performance
- Support achievement of cost and revenue goals through manpower management, baggage fee enforcement and ground aircraft fuel burn reduction
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Required
Associates degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2-4 years leadership experience in an Airport Operations Environment
1 to 2 years Line Station or HUB operational experience (above and below the wing)
Previous experience managing in a union environment
Strong knowledge of station operations and demonstrated operational leadership skills including customer service, ramp operations, safety and business acumen
Excellent communication skills; including written and verbal

Responsible for a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation
Must have the ability to work weekends and shift work
Travel is required
Must be legally authorized to work in Germany for any employer without sponsorship
Must be fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
- College Degree or related field experience in an airline operational environment
