Job overview and responsibilities
United Airlines’ Customer Technology Platform department partners with business and technology leaders across the company to create services and applications across key airline functionalities such as Booking, Check-in, Payment, Reservation systems and Devops to help support the commercial and digital Channels of United.
The team is currently looking for a passionate senior software developer who can
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use. Typically requires 15 or more years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design
Use Microsoft .NET Framework and a supported programming language (e.g., C#)
Serve as technical expert on development projects
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
Support, maintain, and document software functionality
Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed
Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs
Recognized as expert in field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices
Conducts the most complex and vital work critical to the organization
Works without supervision with complete latitude for independent judgment
May mentor less experienced peers and display leadership as needed
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Required
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience in design, development, document, test, and debug of new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use
3+ years of Restful/WebApi service development
Minimum 5+ years of experience with Software Development Languages & Tools, C#, Asp.net/MVC, Web API, WCF, Windows Services, MS Visual Studio, MS TFS
Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Technology Stack, Windows Server OS (2008, 2012), IIS 7, 7.5, MSMQ, EMS, .Net Framework 4.0, 4.5, .Net Core 3.1 and above.
Experience with API Design & Management
Be adept at juggling several projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritization
Must have hands-on Full stack development/full software development life cycle (SDLC) experience along with design, development and maintenance of applications
Worked closely with the architect for development of applications
Must have experience in design, document and major enhancements in the applications
About 4-6 weeks of travel to US in a year required
Exhibit written and spoken English fluency
Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
Experience with multiple RDBMS, SQL Server (2008, 2012), Oracle 11g
2 years of Experience with the Cloud Computing – AWS, Azure
.Net Core, AWS, TeamCity
Experience with Docker software technology
Airlines industry experience
Experience with PCI DSS
